Umberto Galimberti

Born in Monza in 1942, Umberto Galimberti has held, from 1976, the positions of professor of Cultural Anthropology and, from 1983, associate professor of History of Philosophy. From 1999 he has been a full professor at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, serving as Chair of the department of History of Philosophy. He has been a full member from 1985 of the International Association for Analytical Psychology. He has also collaborated with the news dailies "Il Sole-24 ore" (1987-1995) and "La Repubblica" (1995-present). After having finished his studies in Philosophy, Cultural Anthropology and Psychology, Galimberti has translated and curated the works of Jaspers, of whom Galimberti was a student during his time in Germany: the anthological collection "Sulla verità", La Scuola, Brescia, 1970; "La fede filosofica", Marietti, Casale Monferrato, 1973; "Filosofia", Mursia, Milan, 1972-1978 and Utet, Turin, 1978. Of Heidegger, he has translated and curated: "Sull'essenza della verità", La Scuola, Brescia, 1973.
